The UP Asian Center will be hosting a public lecture, The Geopolitics of the South China/West Philippine Sea on 21 March 2023, 2:00 PM, PST, at the Seminar Room, UP Asian Center. The event is free and open to the public! Walk-ins are allowed but pre-registration is encouraged.

The UP Asian Center and the Japan Foundation Manila will hold the Japanese Studies in the Philippines: The Fifth Japanese Studies Research Competition, via Zoom, on 18 March 2023, 8:30 AM – 2 PM, Philippine Standard Time (GMT+8). The event is free and open to the public. Participation requires signing into a (free) Zoom account.

The UP Asian Center, in partnership with K. Matsushita Foundation, will be hosting a special lecture, Comparing Religion in the Philippines and Japan: A Viewpoint from the "Majority Religion" and Debriefing Seminar with the 2022 K. Matsushita Japan Study Tour Participants on 9 March 2023, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, PHT, via Zoom. The event is free and open to the public but signing in to a (free) Zoom account is required.

The UP Asian Center will be hosting a hybrid roundtable discussion, The Rise of the “Indo-Pacific”: Entanglements with China and Southeast Asia on 7 March 2023, 2:00 PM (Philippine Standard Time, GMT+8). The event is free and open only to the guests and students of the UP Asian Center. Online registration (on-site) and signing in to a Zoom account (online) are required. 

The Tri-College Ph.D. Philippines Studies Program, University of the Philippines Diliman will hold the conference and exhibit, PAKARADYAAN: Women Weaving Mëranaw Culture on 28 March to 1 April 2023, at the UP Asian Center and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy. The event is on-site, free, and open to the public.
