Pagbati’t Pagkilala: UP Asian Center Salutes 18 Graduates for Academic Year 2017–2018

Eighteen students—eleven from the MA programs of the UP Asian Center and seven from the Tricollege PhD Philippine Studies Program—took part in Recognition and Graduation Day ceremonies held on 24 June 2018 at the GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium, Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman.

The batch covers graduates from the 1st and 2nd semesters of Academic Year 2017–2018. Atty. Angelo A. Jimenez, Member, UP Board of Regents, was the guest of honor. Delivering the response on behalf of their fellow MA and PhD graduates were Mr. Brenson Andres and Cherish Brillon, respectively. 

The Asian Center offers M.A. degrees in Asian Studies with four fields of specialization: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia. The Center also has an M.A. program in Philippine Studies that allows students to major in Philippine society and culture, Philippine foreign relations, or Philippine development studies. The Center offers a Ph.D. program in Philippine Studies in conjunction with the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
