Dr. Aileen Baviera, Professor at the Asian Center, recently participated in a workshop, ‘Chinese Soft Power in Southeast Asia,’ which was held from 12-13 February 2014 the Hotel Centro in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. 

Dr. Baviera was asked to review and comment on ten papers that were presented at the workshop and which covered foreign policy and aid; cultural relations; and the nature of Chinese soft power in Southeast Asia.

The Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman offers master’s degrees in Asian Studies, each focusing on Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, or West Asia. Professor Baviera handles courses on Chinese studies at the Asian Center, including Politics and Governance in China.
