The UP Asian Center is looking for one (1) University Research Associate II. This is a position with item number UNIRA2-237-1998, and with Salary Grade 14-1. Deadline of applications is on 15 April 2019.
• Undertake institutional research projects under the supervision of the Assistant to the Dean for Research and Publications;
• Monitor the status of research projects of the Asian Center, and assist faculty-in-charge with research projects in matters relating to program management;
• Systematically build a databank of research materials;
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals and research reports, and other publication-related tasks;
• To perform other official duties at the Asian Center as the need arises.

The Asian Center offers M.A. degrees in Asian Studies with four fields of specialization: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia. The Center also has an M.A. program in Philippine Studies that allows students to major in Philippine society and culture, Philippine foreign relations, or Philippine development studies. The Center offers a Ph.D. program in Philippine Studies in conjunction with the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy. The students of Philippine Studies (PS) 201 of the UP Asian Center invite you Bihing D'Laut: The Sama d'Laut’s Maritime Tradition, Culture, & Communal Resilience, on 14 May 2019, 5 pm, UP Asian Center, Quezon City. The event features a lecture on Sama Badjao, two performances of igal dances, and a photo exhibit.

The UP Asian Center will be a holding a public forum, “Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges: ASEAN’s Way Forward” on 3 May 2019, 1 – 5 pm at the UP Asian Center, Quezon City.
