The Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman welcomes applications for teaching positions in the following areas of specialization:

  • Southeast Asian Studies
  • Japan Studies
  • East Asia with a focus on China Studies
  • Development Studies (For Philippine Studies program)
  • Philippine Studies

Candidates must have the following:  

  • Ph.D.
  • Extensive research and publication experience
  • Teaching experience

To apply, kindly submit the following documents:  

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Cover letter
  • Three (3) publication samples
  • Sample syllabi 
  • Photocopy of Diploma (Ph.D.)
  • Recommendation letter 
  • Clearance/s from previous employer/s, if applicable
  • Photocopy of ACR/ ICR (Immigrant Certificate of Residency for permanent resident) card if foreign passport holder 
  • Other supporting documents (such as language proficiency in Asian language/s, awards, etc. )

In the cover letter, please describe how the applicant may vigorously contribute to the Asian Center’s vision, thrusts and programs, and indicate willingness to accept a rank commensurate to credentials/track record and courses assigned. View Asian Center profile.

The Asian Center offers M.A. degrees in Asian Studies with four fields of specialization: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia. The Center also has an M.A. program in Philippine Studies that allows students to major in Philippine society and culture, Philippine foreign relations, or Philippine development studies. The Center offers a Ph.D. program in Philippine Studies in conjunction with the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
