The UP Asian Center and the Ramon Magsaysay Awards Foundation Transformative Leadership will convene the "Lecture Series of the 2024 Ramon Magsaysay Awardees" on 13 and 14 November 2024, 9 to 11 AM and 1 to 3 PM, at the Ramon Magsaysay Center, Malate, Manila. The event is free and open to the public. Online pre-registration is recommended due to limited seating. Refreshments and certificates will be provided for ONSITE attendees.

Dulaang Unibersidad ng Pilipinas, in partnership with the UP Asian Center and other institutions, is staging Nanay Bangis as its first offering for its 47th theatre season from 15 November to 1 December 2024. Directed by J. William Herbert Sigmund Go and adapted by Rody Vera from Bertolt Brecht’s “Mother Courage and Her Children,” Nanay Bangis is the story of a mother who loses her children to the conflict between the MNLF and the Philippine army from 1971 to 1981.

In celebration of its 69th founding anniversary, the UP Asian Center will hold a Flag Raising Ceremony and Keynote Lecture on 18 November 2024, 8:00 AM, PST (GMT+8), at the GT-Toyota Asian Center Lawn and Seminar Room. The event is free and open to the public. Online registration is recommended due to limited slots.

The Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman End-of-Term Report 2021-2024 is now available for download.  The report contains the highlights, projects, and achievements during the three-year term of incumbent Dean Henelito A. Sevilla, Jr., Ph.D. beginning August 2021 to 2024. 

Six (6) UP Asian Center faculty members received the 2024 UP Diliman Centennial Professorial Chairs and Faculty Grants in recognition of their research and mentoring efforts in the previous year. The award was formally conferred during the University Council meeting on 21 October 2024.
