The Search Committee for the Deanship of the Asian Center shall receive nominations from 8 am of 1 March 2021 to 5 pm of 19 March 2021. Please submit the following documents in electronic copies with signatures affixed.
  1. Nominator (s)'s signed nomination letter containing the jusitification for the nomination (please include current contact details of the [first] nominator);
  2. Nominee's summarized curriculum vitae (at most three [3] pages);
  3. Nominee's signed letter of acceptance of the nomination, stating willingess to serve as Dean; and
  4. Nominee's plans that would set bold directions for the Asian Center, clarifying the roles of the Center, in particular, and of UP, in general, in the ASEAN community.

Who May Be Nominated

The nominee must possess the following minimum qualifications:
    • Commitment to academic freedom and the values and ideals of the University
    • Distinction or outstanding academic credentials in the nominee's chosen field of expertise which should be along the lines of the Center's disciplines or fields
    • Filipino Citizen
    • Leadership qualities and administrative or managerial capability
    • Must be willing to serve
    • Must consider resource generation an important function of the position

The UP Asian Center offers M.A. degrees in Asian Studies with four fields of specialization: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia. The Center also has an M.A. program in Philippine Studies that allows students to major in Philippine society and culture, Philippine foreign relations, or Philippine development studies. The Center offers a Ph.D.  program in Philippine Studies in conjunction with the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
