The UP Asian Center offers scholarship grants to support its graduate students through AC-UP-funded and AC Angara scholarships, covering coursework, thesis writing, and academic travel. These grants aim to ease financial constraints to enable students to focus on their studies.

Scholarships for Master's Coursework
The Scholarships for Master's Coursework are granted to students in need of financial assistance to pursue their coursework at the Asian Center. Both the AC Angara Scholarship and the AC UP-Funded Scholarship include full tuition and miscellaneous fees and a stipend of at least 1,200 pesos per month. AC Angara Scholars are given a book allowance of 2,000 pesos per semester while AC UP-Funded Scholars receive 1,000 Pesos per semester. The stipend may be increased depending on the students’ need and documents presented.*

Scholarship for Thesis Writing
The Scholarship for Thesis Writing is granted to students who have successfully defended a research proposal or are already in the writing stage of his/her thesis writing. Applicants must have an active status of enrolment and submit a recommendation from his/her thesis adviser indicating the capacity of the student and potential contribution of the study to knowledge and development of Philippine or Asian studies. AC Angara Scholarship grantees shall receive a total of 15,000 Pesos while AC UP-Funded Scholars shall receive 3,000 Pesos. Both of which are disbursed in three tranches.

Travel Grants for Thesis Writing
Only the AC Angara Scholarhip provides Travel Grants for Thesis Writing. This is given to active Asian Center students who have successfully defended his/her thesis proposal and has a GWA of at least 1.50 at the time of the application. Applicants are required to submit a research plan and budget to be reviewed and approved by the AC Admissions and Scholarship Committee. The grant amount depends on the target field of study. For studies outside the Philippines, a maximum of 45,000 Pesos are provided to recipients while for studies in the Philippines but outside Metro Manila, maximum of 25,000 pesos are given. The grant is required to be liquidated according to government processes.
