The Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman is looking for one (1) Junior Research Assistant. The deadline for applications is on 18 April 2025. This is open to the public. Requirements must be submitted to the UP Asian Center Research and Publications Office.

OVERVIEW AND WORK HOURS

•   The Junior Research Assistant shall assist the AC Research, Publications, and Information Office and other related tasks.
•   Work schedule is Mondays to Fridays, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
•   The position is for a limited engagement (6-8 months of work only).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•   AB or BS Degree relevant to the nature of work
•   No experience or training required
•   Ability to work with minimal supervision
•   Experience in handling events, budgets, and logistics is an advantage
•   Background in processing government financial transactions/disbursements is an advantage
•   Must exhibit Core Competencies (Intermediate) Exemplifying Integrity and Professionalism; Delivering Service Excellence; Demonstrating Personal Effectiveness; Teamwork and Collaboration

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•     Assist the Editor-in-Chief and the Managing Editor in publishing Asian Studies: Journal of Critical Perspectives on Asia by the following but not limited to:
                       ○  Reviewing, copyediting, and proofreading manuscripts
                       ○  Promotion of the journal on various platforms
                       ○  Search for possible submissions, reviewers, and materials for review
•     Assist the Information Officer in the content creation and information dissemination
                       ○  Draft press releases for events, lectures, programs, publications, and activities
                       ○  Disseminate information about the activities of the center
                       ○  Produce content for the Asian Center website and social media pages
                       ○  Design posters and images to promote Asian Center programs and events
•     Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the Dean, Assistants to the Dean, Editor-in-Chief, and/or the University Researcher
