Several faculty members of the Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman presented papers at the UP Department of Political Science Centennial Conference, which was held from 22 to 23 October 2015 at the Claro M. Recto Hall, Bulwagang Rizal, University of the Philippines Diliman.

- “Doing an Ethnography of Policy: Reproductive Politics and Religion in the Philippines by Dr. Maria Dulce F. Natividad
Some of the Asian Center faculty are alumni of the UP Department of Political Science, including Professor Baviera (Ph.D., 2003) and Drs. Santamaria (BA, 1985 and Masters in International Studies, 1989) and Natividad (BA, 1990). Dr. Raquiza, on the other hand, is a political science alumna of the graduate school of the City University of New York.
Carrying the theme “Ang Agham Pampulitika sa Pilipinas: Isandaang Taon ng Pagtuturo, Pananaliksik, at Paglilingkod” [Political Science in the Philippines: 100 Years of Teaching, Research, and Service], the UP Department of Political Science’s Centennial Conference featuerd a variety of panels that provide “a retrospective of the study of politics in the Philippines in the past 100 years, focusing on teaching, research and extension/service.”

The Asian Center offers M.A. degrees in Asian Studies with four fields of specialization: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia. The Center also has an M.A. program in Philippine Studies that allows students to major in Philippine society and culture, Philippine foreign relations, or Philippine development studies. The Center offers a Ph.D. program in Philippine Studies in conjunction with the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
