Last 28 July 2015, several Asian Center faculty, led by Dean Joefe B. Santarita, Ph.D. held a discussion on ASEAN-China relations with fellow academics from ASEAN College, Guangxi University of Nationalities.

Meeting at the ASEAN Hall, Hall of Wisdom, GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center, the scholars also explored prospective avenues of cooperation between the Asian Center and Guangxi University of Nationalities. Areas of mutual interest include faculty exchanges, cross enrollment of graduate students and joint research.

The Guangxi University of Nationalities delegation was led by Professor Chen Bingxian, who was a visiting fellow at the Asian Center several years ago. 


The Asian Center offers M.A. degrees in Asian Studies with four fields of specialization: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia. The Center also has an M.A. program in Philippine Studies that allows students to major in Philippine society and culture, Philippine foreign relations, or Philippine development studies. The Center offers a Ph.D. program in Philippine Studies in conjunction with the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
