Wherever I am, the world comes after me.
It offers me its busyness. It does not believe that I do not want it.
Now I understand
why the old poets of China went so far
and high
into the mountains, then crept into the pale mist.
"The Old Poets of China" by Mary Oliver

The Asian Center, National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) and the UP Institute for Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea (UP IMLOS) held a Simulation Workshop on Philippine Policy on West Philippine Sea (Post-Arbitration Scenarios) last 1 April 2014 at the NDCP Honor Hall, Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.

Participants included NDCP students taking up their MA in National Security Administration, and representatives from selected agencies. The workshop also featured lectures by, among others, Dr. Aileen Baviera and Dr. Tina Clemente from the UP Asian Center. Dr. Baviera and Dr. Clemente teach graduate-level courses on contemporary Chinese politics and economy at the Asian Center.

The Center's MA programs has two tracks, thesis and non-thesis. Both involve any of four regions of study: Northeast Asia (Korea, China, or Japan), Southeast Asian, South Asia, or West Asia. The Asian Center also offers a PhD in Philippine Studies.
