The public is invited to attend Hugyaw, the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the College of Arts and Letters, the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, and the Tricollege PhD Philippine Studies Program, on 23 October 2018, 5 pm – 7 pm, Palma Hall Lobby, University of the Philippines Diliman.
Hugyaw is a Cebuano word meaning “for a crowd to roar in laughter, excitement, and the like.” Here is the tentative program for 23 October.

About the PhD Philippine Studies Program
The Tricollege PhD Philippine Studies Program is a joint program between the UP Asian Center, the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy. The UP Asian Center serves as Secretariat of the Tricollege program.

The Asian Center offers M.A. degrees in Asian Studies with four fields of specialization: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia. The Center also has an M.A. program in Philippine Studies that allows students to major in Philippine society and culture, Philippine foreign relations, or Philippine development studies. The Center offers a Ph.D. program in Philippine Studies in conjunction with the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
