The 2024 Search Committee for the Deanship of the UP Asian Center will be holding a Public Forum and Stakeholder Interviews as part of the search for the next AC Dean. We invite everyone to participate in the forum and interviews scheduled for 15 - 16 October 2024 at the Seminar Room, GT-Toyota Asian Center. The forum will be conducted onsite and virtually while the stakeholder meetings will be held by appointment only.

ABOUT THE PUBLIC FORUM

The public forum is scheduled for 15 October 2024, 9 AM at the Seminar Room, UP Asian Center, and will be live-streamed via Zoom. This event will feature the presentation of the vision and plans of the nominees. The incumbent Dean, Dr. Henelito A. Sevilla Jr. will also present his accomplishments of the previous administration.  This also serves as a venue for concerned stakeholders---faculty, alumni, students, and staff---to raise their questions and concerns to the nominees and hear their plans for addressing these concerns.

ABOUT THE STAKEHOLDER INTERVIEWS

The interviews seek to gather insights, raise issues, and express concerns from the stakeholders of the UP Asian Center regarding the next AC Dean. This will be done via a PRIVATE SESSION (onsite only) with the Search Committee. This is scheduled on 15 October 2024 from 1 - 5 PM and 16 October 2024, 9 AM - 12 NN. Interested stakeholders must book an appointment using the button below. WALK-INS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.

The UP Asian Center offers M.A. degrees in Asian Studies with four fields of specialization: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia. The Center also has an M.A. program in Philippine Studies that allows students to major in Philippine society and culture, Philippine foreign relations, or Philippine development studies. The Center offers a Ph.D.  program in Philippine Studies in conjunction with the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
