The UP Asian Center in partnership with the Asia Center, Seoul National University through the generous support of the Korea Foundation, will offer a free INTERMEDIATE Korean Language classes to be held every Saturday starting 31 January 2026, Online via Zoom. Applications for limited slots are open to AC Korea Majors, Asian Center students, and UP students. The deadline for registration for AC and UP Students is on 26 January 2026, 11:59 PM, PHT.
SCHEDULE OF CLASSES AND CLASS MODALITY
The class will be held every Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Philippine Standard Time, Online via Zoom.
Classes will start on 31 January 2026 and will end in May 2026.
ELIGIBILITY
Applications for the limited slots are open to the following:
- Currently Enrolled UP Asian Center Korea Majors
- Currently Enrolled UP Asian Center Students
- Currently Enrolled UP Diliman Students
NOTE: The deadline for registration for AC and UP Students is 26 January 2026, 11:59 PM, PHT. Selected participants are expected to attend all sessions. You will be notified via email if you will be accepted into the class.
COMPLETION
Official Certificates of Completion will be awarded to those who complete the course.
INSTRUCTOR
Dr. Hyeondong Hwang holds a degree in Korean Language and Literature from Seoul National University, where he specialized in Korean linguistics, with a particular focus on semantics and pragmatics. He is especially interested in how words and sentences are used differently depending on context. In his Korean language course, he helps students not only learn grammar and vocabulary, but also understand how Korean is naturally used in real-life communication.
