LIST OF REQUIREMENTS

Below is the list of requirements for the TriCollege Ph.D. Philippine Studies Program. The deadline for applications is 14 June 2026, 11:59 PM, PHT.
Applicants are REQUIRED to submit ONLY SOFT COPIES to apply for the TriCollege Ph.D. Program.
    1. Online Application Form for the TriCollege Ph.D. Philippine Studies Program (You can fill out this form while completing your requirements)
    2. Application Letter addressed to: Prof. Noel Christian A. Moratilla, Ph.D. (Chair, UP Tri-College PhD Philippine Studies Program)
    3. Dissertation Proposal Form
      • A two-page description of the proposed dissertation with a multi-disciplinary orientation to be presented to the Admissions Committee
    4. Student Directory with a 2x2 photo
    5. Transcript of Records (TOR)
      • GWA of 1.75 or better in an MA or MS degree at a recognized institution.
      • If the TOR is not readily available, a True Copy of Grades (TCG) is temporarily accepted. TOR may be submitted once available. 
    6. Birth Certificate (PSA Copy)
    7. Computation of GWA 
    8. One (1) piece of 2x2-sized photo
    9. Marriage Certificate For married applicants only
The other requirements below must be submitted directly to the TriCollege Program Secretariat by the Recommender
    • Duly Accomplished Recommendation Forms  Minimum of THREE (3)

        • HARD COPY:  Must be submitted to the TriCollege Program Secretariat in a sealed envelope

FILE-NAMING AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Applicants are REQUIRED to submit ONLY SOFT COPIES to apply for the TriCollege Ph.D. Program.

STEP 1:    View the List of Requirements (see the list above).
STEP 2:    Compile and change the File Name of all Requirements based on the format below. The requirement number is based on the list above.

STEP 3:    Submit all requirements through the Online Application Form.

STEP 4:    Wait for the TriCollege Program Secretariat to send you the Billing Statement
STEP 5:    Pay for the Application Fee via Cash (paid at the UP Diliman Cash Office) or GCash App (How to pay via GCash).

STEP 7:    Once TriCollege Secretariat acknowledges your payment, CONGRATS! YOU HAVE APPLIED!


ACCEPTED APPLICANTS SUBMISSION OF REQUIREMENTS

The deadline for submission of Hard Copies of Requirements is 24 July 2026.

ONCE ACCEPTED TO THE PROGRAM,  successful applicants must SUBMIT HARD COPIES OF THE REQUIREMENTS. 

Requirements to be Submitted (Hard Copy)

        1. Application Letter addressed to: Prof. Noel Christian A. Moratilla, Ph.D. (Chair, UP Tri-College PhD Philippine Studies Program)
        2. Dissertation Proposal Form
          • A two-page description of the proposed dissertation with a multi-disciplinary orientation to be presented to the Admissions Committee
        3. Student Directory with a 2x2 photo - Original
          • Photos must be printed on photo paper and pasted on the Student Directory.
          • Printed photos directly on the form will NOT be accepted.
          • Must use wet signature. E-signatures will NOT be accepted.
        4. Transcript of Records (TOR) -Original AND Photocopy
          • If the TOR is not readily available, a True Copy of Grades (TCG) is temporarily accepted. TOR may be submitted once available. 
          • The TOR must comply with these guidelines.
        5. Birth Certificate (PSA Copy) - Original AND Photocopy
        6. Computation of GWA 
        7. Two (2) pieces of 2x2-sized photo
        8. Permit to Transfer For UP applicants OR Certificate of Transfer Credentials - For non-UP applicants only
          • Permit to Transfer for applicants from UP Constituent Units.
          • Certificate of Transfer Credentials for graduates of non-UP Diliman universities
        9. Marriage Certificate For married applicants only, Original AND Photocopy
        10. Medical Certificate obtained from the UP Diliman Health Service

HOW TO SUBMIT THE HARD COPIES OF YOUR REQUIREMENTS

STEP 1:    Place all of your documents in a long brown envelope.
STEP 2:    At the back of the envelope, write your full name: Surname, First Name, Middle Name, Semester, and Program

Example: DE LA CRUZ, JUANA, GONZALES [1st Sem, AY 25-26, PhD Philippine Studies]

STEP 3:    Submit personally OR mail to (Lalamove, Grab, and other couriers also accepted):
