ABOUT THE LINGGO NG PARANGAL 2026
The theme of this year's Linggo ng Parangal is "Nilinang sa Kalinga."
The world is experiencing rapid changes brought about by climate change, technological innovations, and the exchange and convergence of ideologies, knowledge, and various practices through globalization. On the one hand, this is yielding innovative perspectives that can provide solutions to the problems experienced by various communities in our society. However, it is worth remembering that not everyone is able to keep up with the flow of change.
In fulfilling the University of the Philippines’ mandate to offer excellence and capabilities for the development of our country, a deep and honest understanding of the situation of each member of our community is necessary to ensure their harmonious and peaceful lives. This can only be done if we live the true spirit of the university respect for the knowledge, skills, and experiences of each person—to deliver meaningful service that benefits everyone. This year, the University honors outstanding students, faculty, and staff who have demonstrated actions and work that are relevant to the real experiences of communities in their pursuit of the University's goal of promoting a progressive society.
