REGISTRATION PERIOD AND START OF CLASSES
The regular registration period is from 5 to 7 August 2026. Classes will start on 10 August 2026. Results of the online waitlisting will also be available during the registration period. Face-to-face transactions are highly encouraged. For more information about the enrollment process, click here.

APPLICATION FOR RESIDENCE: Why and When to Enroll?
Being enrolled in Residence means that you are officially enrolled for the semester but are not taking any regular courses.
You should APPLY FOR RESIDENCE if you are:

- Taking the Comprehensive or Qualifying examinations
- Completing any INCs or 4.0s (unless they are taking other courses)
- At any stage of the thesis writing/research/development (except when they are enrolled in AS/PS 300, or PS 400)
- Taking the Language Requirement
- Readmission from AWOL

UPDATES REGARDING COURSES
For students taking AS 210, please note that both AS 201 (from old curriculum AS 201-A, renumbered) and AS 202 (from old curriculum AS 201, renumbered) are PREREQUISITES. Both courses must be taken before taking AS 210.

FACE-TO-FACE AND ONLINE SESSIONS
The UP Asian Center will continue to hold classes with a partly-online and partly-onsite arrangement for the First Semester, AY 2026—2027. The number of face-to-face and online sessions for each class will depend on the pedagogical preference of the instructor and in consideration of students’ circumstances. Classes may be conducted following any of the instruction modes/formats below.
A. Scheduled face-to-face classes; mostly online sessions;
B. Full face-to-face classes (limited to a few classes);
C. Combination of face-to-face, online, and asynchronous sessions; and
D. Fully online (limited to a few classes)

NEW ASIAN STUDIES AND PHILIPPINE STUDIES CURRICULA
The UP Asian Center started implementing the revised curricula for its Asian Studies and Philippine Studies programs to newly admitted Asian Center students starting the Second Semester, AY 2024-2025. Old students following the older versions of the curriculum can still take new or revised courses as may be appropriate for their program of study.
During this transition to the revised curricula, AC students admitted during the Second Semester AY 2023-2024 will follow Phase 2 (refer to Guidelines for the 2nd Semester, AY 23-24 are out now!) of the curriculum, students admitted during the First Semester AY 2023-2024 will follow Phase 1 (refer to "Here are the guidelines for the 1st Semester, AY 2023-2024!"), while old students will follow the old curriculum.
