The UP Asian Center will hold "Ikebana as Sustainable Art: A Lecture and Demonstration on Japanese Traditional Flower Arrangement" on 13 November 2019, 1–2:30 pm at the ASEAN Hall, UP Asian Center, QC. The event is free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first served. Walk-ins are welcome but participants are encouraged to sign up.

FACILITATOR 

Asako Tsunoda is a certified Ikebana instructor from Misho ryu Nakayama bunpo-kai, a school which originated from Osaka more than 200 years ago during the Edo period. She is also a founder of Manila bunpo-kai and has been teaching Ikebana in Tokyo, Sydney and Manila for 14 years.

The Asian Center offers M.A. degrees in Asian Studies with four fields of specialization: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia. The Center also has an M.A. program in Philippine Studies that allows students to major in Philippine society and culture, Philippine foreign relations, or Philippine development studies. The Center offers a Ph.D.  program in Philippine Studies in conjunction with the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
