The UP Asian Center is now accepting abstract submissions for the “Japanese Studies in the Philippines Research Development Competition: Year 7.” Undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in Philippine Universities may submit any topic related to Japanese Studies can be submitted (except topics that focus solely on natural sciences, medical sciences, and engineering).

Starting Second Semester AY 2023-2024, the UP Asian Center is implementing Phase 2 of the curriculum revisions for its Asian Studies and Philippine Studies programs. Learn about the new and improved courses! Click on the button below.

The UP Asian Center, in partnership with the Office of Cultural Diplomacy of the Department of Foreign Affairs, is still accepting submissions for the 2024 international conference on Philippine Studies, Dialogo: Philippine Studies Goes Global. The deadline for submissions in English is on 22 July 2024. The NEW deadline for submissions in Filipino is on 9 August 2024.

The UP Asian Center, in partnership with the Asia Pacific Pathways to Progress Foundation, Inc. (APPFI), hosted the roundtable "Philippines between the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait: Two Hotspots, Same Quandaries" last 22 May 2024, at the Seminar Room, GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center, University of the Philippines, Diliman.

The UP Asian Center was honored to host a delegation of youth leaders from Timor-Leste last 3 June 2024. Education Attaché Mr. Tomas Mendonça from the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste led the visit which included a series of talks, question-and-answer, and information session.
