The UP Asian Center will be holding a book talk and launch, "Sugar and the Indian Ocean World: Trade and Consumption in the Eighteenth-Century Persian Gulf" on 26 June 2024, 2:00 PM, PHT (GMT+8), via Zoom. The event is free and open to the public but signing in to a (free) Zoom account is required.

The UP Asian Center and the UP Department of Political Science held a public lecture entitled “Technology Governance and Global Innovation” on 30 April 2024 led by Dr. Virginia Bacay Watson, a Professor at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in Honolulu, Hawaii. The event was formally opened by Dr. Aries A. Arugay, Chair of the Department of Political Science, UP Diliman. Professor Tina S. Clemente, Ph.D. facilitated the event and discussion.

The Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman is looking for one (1) conference finance manager, one (1) website developer,  and one (1) graphic designer with limited engagement. The deadline for applications is EXTENDED to 24 June 2024. This is open to the public.

The UP Asian Center will hold the public lecture, Boys Love Media in Thailand: Celebrity, Fans, and Transnational Asian Queer Popular Culture on 14 June 2024 at the Seminar Room, UP Asian Center, and via Zoom (hybrid). The event is free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first served. Walk-ins are welcome, but participants are encouraged to register online.

UP Asian Center Professor Matthew M. Santamaria, Doctor of Law, was appointed UP Artist I under the UP Arts Productivity System in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the creative arts and in art scholarship for national development.
