Nine presentations on different aspects of Japanese society—delivered during the Fourth Japanese Studies in the Philippines Research Competition on 19 March 2022, 830 am to 2 pm—are now available in the UP Asian Center's YouTube channel.

The UP Asian Center will be hosting a webinar via Google Meet, “Allies and Enemies: The Russian Invasion of Ukraine and its Impact on Asia and the Pacific” on 11 April 2022, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (Philippine Standard Time, GMT+8). 

The UP Asian Center and Japan Foundation Manila held the Fourth Japanese Studies in the Philippines Research Competition on 19 March 2022 via Zoom, from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.

In a recent book chapter, “Treat and Threat: Chinese Financing of Duterte's Build! Build! Build! Programs,” Professor Joefe B. Santarita of the UP Asian Center explores the effects of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) on President Rodrigo Duterte’s Build! Build! Build! initiatives.

Professor Antoinette Raquiza of the UP Asian Center will be speaking at a webinar on “Industrial Policy and Nation-Building” which will be held on 22 March 2022, 9 am to 12 pm via Zoom, Philippine Standard Time. The webinar is free and open to the public.
