The UP Asian Center and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in the Philippines will be hosting a miniconcert, Bamboo Harmony: Angklung Music and Indonesian Dance, on 23 August 2018, 10 am to 1:00 pm, UP Asian Center, QC.

The UP Asian Center will host a research forum, Japan Studies AcrossBorders, and the book launching of “Thinking Beyond the State: Migration, Integration, and Citizenship in Japan and the Philippines” on 16 August 2018, 1:00 pm–4:00 pm, Seminar Room, UP Asian Center, Quezon City. Both events are free and open to the public, but seating is first-come, first-served; interested participants are requested to sign up to receive any change to the program.

The UP Asian Center co-organized the 2018 ASEAN-Korea Youth Network Workshop held from 2–7 July 2018 in Seoul, Republic of Korea, and from 7–11 July 2018 in Manila, Philippines. 

Given as part of the Japan Foundation Library Support Grant for Fiscal Year 2017–2018, the books serve as great additions to the Asian Center's Japan Studies collection, and cover history, economics, international relations, and popular culture.
