Wherever I am, the world comes after me.
It offers me its busyness. It does not believe that I do not want it.
Now I understand
why the old poets of China went so far
and high
into the mountains, then crept into the pale mist.
"The Old Poets of China" by Mary Oliver

ABOUT THE SSPPS

The UP Social Sciences and Philosophy Productivity System (SSPPS) seeks to support the development of the social sciences and philosophy fields  and to encourage and reward scholarly and scientific productivity. Researchers, scholars, and scientists are conferred the title "UP Social Scientist / UP Scholar" with a corresponding monetary award. Approved by the BOR during the 1376th meeting on 25 November 2022, it seeks to address the imbalance in the recognition  of scholarly achievements in the social Sciences and philosophy. Regular, full-time faculty, and research faculty, and researchers (REPS) are eligible for the incentive as approved in the 1397th BOR meeting on 27 February 2025. The applicants are evaluated based on their Research and Publications, Leadership in Public Service, and Professional Leadership.
