TriCollege Ph.D. Philippine Studies Program alumna, Dr. Marichu C. Liwanag was appointed as the new Deputy Director General of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) – Foreign Service Institute (FSI). As deputy director general, she will be responsible for leading the administrative programs and projects of the institute and aligning its operations with internationally accepted standards.

The UP Asian Center will hold the 2024 Graduate Student Conference with the theme “Asia in an Era of (Un)Certainties: Transitions and Trajectories” on 1 June 2024 at the GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium, UP Asian Center. The event is free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first served. Walk-ins are welcome, but participants are encouraged to register online.

The UP Asian Center, Sasakawa Peace Foundation, and the International Development and Security Cooperation (IDSC) in partnership with the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, J7 (OJ7), Armed Forces of the  Philippines will host the roundtable discussion, Deradicalization of the Violent Extremists in Achieving Lasting Peace in Marawi  on 24 May 2024, at the GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium, UP Asian Center. The event is by-invitation only.

The UP Asian Center, in partnership with the University of the Philippines Diliman Office of the Chancellor, College of Arts and Letters and the TriCollege Ph.D. Philippine Studies Program , will co-host the public forum, Sulagad: Kalikasan, Kabuhayan, at Katutubong Pamamahala on 17 May 2024, 2:00 PM (PHT, GMT+8), at the GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium, UP Asian Center. The event is free and open to the public.

The UP Asian Center is now accepting applications for the August/September 2024 intake (First Semester, Academic Year 2024-2025). The deadline for application is on 12 July 2024.
