The Seventh Japan Studies Research and Development Competition (JSRDC) showcased the brightest minds among Filipino undergraduate and graduate students across the country. The competition, organized by the UP Asian Center and Japan Foundation Manila (JFM), was held on 15 March for the undergraduate and 22 March for the graduate category at the Asian Center, UP Diliman. 

The UP Asian Center, once again, expands its collection of Japan-related resources, thanks to the READ Japan Project. The center received a generous donation of ninety-five (95) titles, offering fresh insights into Japan’s history, politics, economy, culture, and international relations on 13 March 2025.

The UP Asian Center is now accepting abstract submissions for the 2025 AC Graduate Student Conference, “The Philippines in a Multipolar World.” The deadline for submission is on 21 April 2025, Monday, 5:00 PM (Manila Time). The conference is open only to the students currently enrolled at the UP Asian Center and TriCollege Ph.D. Philippine Studies Program.

Dr. Grace Odal-Devora, beloved student of the UP Asian Center and TriCollege Ph.D. Philippines Studies and former president of the AC Alumni Association, passed away on 19 March 2025. He was 68.

The UP Asian Center will hold the special lecture "Taiwan’s Regional Environment and Cross-Strait Relations" on 2 April 2025, 2 PM, PHT (GMT+8), at the Seminar Room, UP Asian Center. The event is free and open to the public.
