  • Viva Palestina! | A Solidarity Event for Palestine

    The UP Asian Center in partnership with the Philippines-Palestine Friendship Association (PPFA), will be holding "Viva Palestina! A Solidarity Event for Palestineon 22 March 2026. The discussion and side events will be held from 1 - 5 PM, while the solidarity concert will be from 5 - 8 PM, PST (GMT+8), at the GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium. Tickets are priced at 150 Pesos, but donations more than the amount is welcome. Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting solidarity campaigns and initiatives for the Palestinian cause.

  • Champions of Change and Innovation: UP Youth Summit on the Sustainable Development Goals

    The UP Asian Center, the University of the Philippines (UP) Office of the President, through the UP Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs—Office of Student Development Services (OVPAA-OSDS), and UP CIFAL Philippines will host the two-day capacity-building event, "Champions of Change and Innovation: UP Youth Summit on Sustainable Development Goals." The event is open to all Constituent Units of the University of the Philippines.

The event is free and open to the public. Snacks will be served. Online pre-registration is recommended due to limited seating.

 The UP Asian Center will hold the Roundtable Discussion, "Tanaw: The Asian Center at 70, Pillars of History" on 28 November 2025, 10:30 AM (GMT+8), at the Seminar Room, Asian Center, UP Diliman. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to register online.

    

ABOUT THE ROUNDTABLE

As part of the 70th anniversary celebration of the UP Asian Center, the roundtable discussion focuses on the history and the pioneers who have shaped the Asian Center over the years. This round table serves as a look back at the center's colorful past, as well as a look ahead to its future direction. The event aims to provide a platform for scholarly exchange and critical discussion. The roundtable discussion also aims to provide the audience with the opportunity to learn more about the center's history and its notable scholars.

The UP Asian Center in partnership with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines through the NHCP Museo El Deposito is organizing the launch of "Pagasa sa Gitna ng Kalayaan,"  a Traveling Exhibit and Lecture by the NHCP Museo El Deposito on 2 December 2025, 9:30 AM (GMT+8), at the GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium, UP Diliman. The exhibit will run until 15 December 2025 at the ASEAN Hall, UP Asian Center. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to register online.

The UP Asian Center is now accepting paper submissions for Japanese Studies in the Philippines: The 8th Japanese Studies Research Development Competition. Undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in Philippine Universities may submit any topic related to Japanese Studies (except topics that focus solely on natural sciences, medical sciences, and engineering). The deadline for submissions is 21 December 2025, 5:00 PM, PHT.
